Disney’s Inconsistent Appoarch to Spoilers

Avengers Doomsday is on the horizon and one thing that comes to mind is the recent revaluations about how little the actors know about the roles they’re playing. Like the actor who once played Nightcrawler in X-Men, Alan Cumming, has no idea who is playing now. Since Disney, the head of Marvel Studios, runs on nostalgia and they’re currently trying to weave X-Men universe into the current MCU timeline, it’s easy to put two-and-two together that Nightcrawler is returning. I could be wrong but why wouldn’t they? Deadpool already made a big deal about it in his third movie.

And yet, what they do choose share is pretty mind-boggling in it of itself. Why is RDJ playing Doomsday? Is this somehow implying that Iron Man went rouge? I get that this a huge course correction after the original Kang Dynasty plans fell apart but still. If anything, that alone should have been kept a spoiler. Sure must have been just as big a shocker to the actors like Alan as it was to everyone else.

Brave New Spoilers

And this brings me to Captain America: Brave New World. I wasn’t really interested in the film. It had nothing to do with who was the lead or any of that. I just got burnt from the military sci-fi genre after being exposed for it nearly two decades. Captain Marvel was the real nail in the coffin. It just felt like an Air Force ad dressed up as a comic book film.

That being said, I was somehow still spoiled by who the big bad was: Thaddeus Ross. Even though they only show the Red Hulk battles, it’s pretty clear who it is simply based on the location. Ross was also behind the Accords that sparked Civil War. Of course he was going to appear here. Not to mention this is the same guy was willing to create his own Hulk just to stop Banner. Like, if you’re so paranoid about spoilers, why give that away!? You basically just spoiled the ending.

Make Up Your Minds

Now, I don’t really care about spoilers per-se. As someone who loves to travel, I prefer to follow the protagonist on their journey even if I know where it’ll take them. That being said, I’m still going to be disappointed when I get them because I do like mysteries and surprises. It’s just fun. Likewise, I’ve come to hold people by the standards they themselves set, such as Disney. That’s basically why I’m writing this article in the place.
