Yes, I Do Still like the MCU
We live in a world where it seems some groups will go out of their way to force people to stick to one singular opinion. Because heaven forbid we have any nuance. You see, for the criticisms I give towards the MCU, I will also happily defend them too, especially when I’m inevitability proven wrong about their history. Which has happened more times than I care admit.
So my criticisms of the MCU is mostly because of how much I like them. I’ve shown that time and time again. Crazy concept, right? And I’ll admit I’ve wrong plenty of times about Phase 4. At the same time, Disney did overwhelm us with a tone of shows on their streaming service nearly simultaneously and I’m not exactly one of those people who bites into every hype no matter how much I love these comics. So, yeah… Shame on me and shame on you too, Disney. I’m still pissed at you guys for doing that.
From my criticisms of their haphazard character portrayals like Thor to the blatant Military propaganda of Captain Marvel is all because I care. That simple. Certainly a lot more productive than focusing on superficial or skin deep details. But I digress… The MCU wanted us to be invested in these characters and their world so this is my sharing my opinion on having been invested for this long. You could argue my opinions are subjective but, yeah, like duh… Art is about getting to feel and think about something.
And despite how much I do really dislike some aspects of these movies, they are still entertaining to watch. Trust me, I’ve watched worse.
